Across The Face Of The Sun

TheSun TheSun(Eclipse)

These two images of the sun come from the Astronomy Picture of the Day website. Look carefully. Only one of the dark marks on the surface of the sun is a sunspot – the one to the lower right of the partially eclipsed sun on the right. The other marks are the International Space Station (ISS) as it transits the face of the sun. Look even closer at the image on the left and you will see the space shuttle as a dot to the left of the ISS.
