Continuing my bazaar interest in barcodes and the like, I thought that I'd draw a QR code on squared paper and see what whether it would scan. It did.

Here are the original QR code (ISO 18004) and the drawn - both saying 'Marginalia55', as usual:

This is MaxiCode (ISO 16023) - as created and used by UPS - spelling out Marginalia55.

Haven't had a barcode since 'Barcode Extra' (or should that be since Barcode - 14?) and there are not that many left in my collection (probably enough for a scattering over the next couple of years). This is a LOGMARS barcode spelling out, as always, Marginalia55. (Where the 'D' at the end came from, I don't know.)

I haven't posted a barcode for a while, so here is the Japanese Postal Barcode for 'Marginalia55':

(Rubik's) Barcode - 13 (With a Difference)

When I post a barcode, it is usually one that reads 'Marginalia55' when scanned. This is a barcode post with a difference. I recently came across Manatee Works' barcode reading apps which are advertised using the following creative use of Rubik's cube (another of my recurring interests).

If each cube is jumbled up, I wonder what would happen if one tried to scan the resulting barcode image?

I've not posted a barcode for a few months, so here is another bit of absolute trivia: a Grid Matrix barcode (saying 'Marginalia55' as always).

Not the prettiest of barcodes. After looking at several barcodes, one gets to note something functional about them - the way the dots are set out etc. - and something aesthetic too.

I was about to write 'whatever way you look at this barcode, there is nothing aesthetically pleasing about it' but realised that I hadn't looked at it in any the other three (orthogonal) ways of looking at it. So, here they are (a quarter turn at a time):

Here's another barcode saying 'Marginalia55'. This is a Dutch Post KIX. I've seen similar things stuck to letters in the UK. Next time I do, I must carefully compare the two.

Not a Barcode

This is not a barcode but it is inspired by the idea I have been adopting: that of turning the name 'Marginalia55' into some other form. (What I am now referring to as a 'Manipulation55' in the blog labels.)  Here is the name of this blog as an equation.
